Nights In Rodanthe
Pages 82 -108
In this part of the book, the relationship and easiness with Paul Flanner and Adrienne begin to grow even more and the personal similarities they have with each other become more easy to talk about. They both are currently single, and what's more fun than to get flirty with one another. During this section Paul also takes his usual morning run, but this time takes a different route passing by the house of the man who sent him the letter. On his way by, he noticed the town's ups and downs; the run-down houses and shacks, along with the beautiful and breathtaking, scenic shoreline. The mere idea of going from one extreme to the other threw him off guard a little bit, but he ended up appreciating it later in the reading.
The connection these two main characters have with each other is so overwhelmingly romantic, but not in a very upfront kind of way. They both know they are very interested in one another, but are slowly taking extra time to get to know backgrounds of each other first. Through both time and experience, each of them know deep inside they would work well together, but slowly approaching it is the route they are currently taking. "Between the two of us, you'd think we'd have it figured out, huh?" "What? The key to happily ever after? I don't think there is one anymore." (Pages 95 & 96). This quote does a great job in the way they both communicate. Not only is it secretly saying that they both know that it doesn't exist, but it doesn't mean they can't find a way to make it come back to life, and put into their life together.
The connection I made with this part of the book was being able to visualize the love that is growing between Adrienne and Paul, and that of other hopeless romantics in other Nicholas Sparks books. I can just picture every event so far from the book vividly in my head. Two very random people with many of the same common interests who just ended up at the right place at the right time; needless to say. I only could hope that one day I am able to share such wonderful moments with someone I care about and love so much. I can already picture the fairy tale ending this book will surprise me with in the end.
